I’ve designed and illustrated books and magazines over three decades in United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand

I trained as an illustrator in the UK, and then worked as a freelance illustrator in New Zealand and Australia.  After stints art directing various magazines, I concentrated on publishing, and have worked as a freelance book designer since.

Book cover design is my main passion, although I have designed the internal pages for a number of large format coffee table books.

No project too big or too small, I am happy to supply a number of alternatives when I work on your project, and to tweak and revise until everyone is happy. I have provided covers to many of the world’s leading international publishers, including Penguin, Harper Collins, Random House, Exisle and New Holland.

Most of my work has been in print, but I’m now doing more ebook covers and digital work. I’ve designed  a number of best-sellers, and my covers have been frequently nominated in the New Zealand book design awards.

I work with inDesign and Photoshop, and am happy to supply open files or pdf’s, whatever you need to publish your book.

Regardless whether a book will appear in print or in digital format, I believe the same principles of content, composition, color and great type still hold true.

I also know what a deadline is, and will go the extra distance to get a job done on time.

I have recently returned to the UK, after over 30 years living and working in New Zealand.
